The SR-2 is a highly accurate and easy to use soil resistivity meter.

The SR-2 is designed for use in both 2-Pin and 4-Pin (Wenner) methods of soil resistance measurements. The SR-2 provides easy resistance reads with a digital 4 1/2 digit display and easily adjusted Ohm range selector.

BATTERIES:

The Model SR-2 has an internal 12 volt, rechargeable battery and an internal 9 volt battery.

12 Volt Rechargeable Battery.

To check if the 12 volt rechargeable battery needs to be charged, depress the “PUSH AND HOLD TO TEST BUTTON”.  The LED green light above the “TEST AND HOLD TO TEST BUTTON” will blink if the battery needs charging. A solid green light means your battery is charged and ready for use.

To charge the battery when needed, plug in the charger on the top of the panel into the charger port.  The red light next to the charger port will illuminate when the charger is connected properly. For a full charge, charge for 8-10 hours. Retest the battery after the allotted charging time once again using the “TEST AND HOLD TO TEST BUTTON”. A solid green light indicates a charged battery.

9 Volt Battery.

Replacement of the 9 Volt battery. You’ll know if the 9 volt battery needs to be replaced if the digital readout starts to go dim or it goes blank. See photo below for help in replacing the 9 volt battery. Click on photo to enlarge.

• Make sure instrument is off and that the charger is not plugged in.
• Remove the two screws on the left and right side of the casing with a Phillips-head screw driver.
• Lift the face panel out of the case, be mindful of the wires connecting the panel and the case.
• The 9 volt battery is mounted next to the rechargeable 12 volt battery.
• Install the new 9 volt battery. T&R #010-007
• Reverse the steps to return the instrument to operational status.
